The Phase Finder™ is the first device of its kind that does not require electrical contact to identify phases on 3 phase systems. Modern power is precise enough to hold a particular phase frequency without referencing another phase concurrently. Using this unit will help reduce accidental shorts and human contact with live wires. In addition, the Transmitter will send a signal on the phase "A" line so it can be identified at any point in the electrical system.

PHASE FINDER FAQs

My only concern is motor rotation.  Do I need a receiver and a transmitter?
No.  Many customers purchase only the receiver ($119.00). The receiver will work independently of the transmitter.   You need to set the unit to phase "A" and it will indicate which remaining lines are phase "B" and "C".

The receiver does not hold the phase long enough to check multiple locations.  How can I identify phase "A" throughout the system?
This is a senario where the transmitter must be used.   If the transmitter is connected at any point along the phase "A" line, the receiver will indicate the same physical line as phase "A", throughout the system.

In some cases power is already shut down.  Can I use the Phase Finder to check sequence on dead lines?
No. The Phase Finder is designed to work only on energized systems.
