Can the HOTROD indicate a live line through insulation?
No. The HOTROD blade must make contact with the conductor.   Most non-contact voltage indicators can't identify specific lines in breaker and control panels.

I work in a high humidity environment.  Will moisture damage or affect the HOTROD electronics?
No. The HOTROD handle is watertight.  The HOTROD blade also has a special coating to minimize corrosion and water damage.

How often do the batteries need to be replaced?
The HOTROD has a 2-3 year battery life with regular use.   It uses standard "AAA" batteries which are less expensive and easier to find than watch or specialty batteries.
